Email can be an excellent communication tool. At the same time Email can cause a large amount of confusion and even delays. One of the most important parts of using email is proper training and etiquette. Someone who does not understand email or email procedures will only confuse themselves and others. If an employee is found to have difficulty with email or is continuously confused, irritated, or unresponsive to email they should undergo extensive email training. There are also simply situations where an auto responder should be created for a person apologizing but asking for a phone call at a number in order for a response to be given due to unavailability of email or to contact another individual for urgent email correspondence.
